What Is GED?
What is GED®?
The GED® is an American High School Equivalency Certificate. It is internationally
recognized as a high school leaver equivalent or Grade 12 equivalent in South Africa.
There are 4 subjects divided into the following categories:
The subjects are: English – Reading, Writing and Language
Mathematics
Science - Biology, Space, Chemistry, Physics
Social Studies - History, Economics, Civics, Geography
The course is an exceptionally good contingency plan for students who:
Do not fit the frame of mainstream high schooling in South Africa.
Never completed their high schooling due to not fitting into mainstream
schooling for which ever reason it may be.
Students who aim to study internationally.
Completing your High School Equivalency Credential without support can be
difficult, however, we will give you the necessary tools to assist you / your
student to complete the High School Equivalency Credential in South Africa.
We make use of an online tutoring platform relating to the above subjects.
SAQA (the South African Qualifications Authority) has evaluated the GED® and found the National Senior Certificate as its closest comparable qualification.
